Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Pope’s special envoy, visited Ukrainian prisoners of war detained in Russia. It was the first admission of a foreign representative to Ukrainian POWs since the start of the full-scale invasion. The visit coincided with the return of 270 Ukrainian service members and civilians from captivity.
