ماذا حدث

Russian forces struck Dnipro and the Kryvyi Rih district overnight on 3 November and launched renewed attacks on Dnipro in the morning, using several waves of rockets and drones. A Russian rocket hit the city’s hospice, where almost 100 elderly patients with serious, incurable illnesses were staying. No patients or medical staff there were injured, but almost 50 patients were transferred to other city hospitals; the oldest patient was 90. An outpatient clinic of the primary health-care centre and a city hospital were also damaged, with almost 100 people receiving treatment in the affected hospital. Overall, Ukrainian authorities reported one person killed and 17 injured. Rescue workers found the victim’s body and freed a living woman from beneath the rubble, providing her with medical assistance. The threat of further strikes complicated the operation, which involved rescuers, utility workers, city services and volunteers.

كيف تصفه المصادر الأوكرانية

Ukrainian reporting focuses on the human toll, rescue operations and the particular danger posed by attacks on facilities treating frail and terminally ill patients. It also details damage to residential buildings, public and cultural institutions, a thermal power plant, a police station and water infrastructure. Dnipro mayor Борис Філатов published photographs of the hospice damage and called on politicians, diplomats and foreign audiences to share them. Ukrainian authorities and international organisations describe strikes on civilian infrastructure as Russian war crimes, while Russian authorities deny deliberately targeting it.
